IPL 2019 : 3 intresting facts of the tournament’s history

IPL is the most entertaining and number 1 reality show of the world. Everyone have to waiting for the IPL leagues. It has become an important part of the cricket and sport over the last 10 years. Although, this tournament is not only about glamour and entertainment  but it is a biggest platform for cricketers from all over the world to show their talent. However IPL is full of fun where 8 teams playing to each other.

The wait of fans is almost over with a brand new season is set to be on 23rd March 2019. The first match of the edition will see between the defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Banglore at Chennai.

Over the past 11 seasons, IPL has some incidents that most of the fans are interested to not know about. With a new edition set to begin, we take a look at 3 top incidents that will carry more surprise.

#3 No KKR batsman has scored a ton since Brendon McCullum’s 158

Brendon McCullum ammased 158 in the first match of IPL 2008.

It’s very tough to believe but it is a fact that, any player of Kolkata Knight Riders not scored a century in the IPL after Brendon McCullum’s158 in the first match of the first edition of IPL 2008.

In that inning, Brendon ammased 158 Runs from just 73 balls with 10 fours and 13 sixes against (RCB) Royal Challengers Bangalore on their home ground. However, It was the highest solo score of KKR’s batsman in theIPL. This was the first performance of IPL that lead the platform towards the success.

However, after McCullum’s exertion, six batsman of KKR have to crossed the 90-runs in the tournament but not anyone convert his Runs into a ton. After Mccullum’s inning, the KKR batsman, Manish Pandey hits the highest scorr 94  against Kings XI Punjab in 2014.

It will be very interesting to see the next hundreds from KKR batsman in this season.

#2 Oldest player to make IPL debut – Pravin Tambe (41 years)

Pravin Tambe is the first oldest IPL debutant.

At the age 41 when most of the players look to retire, Pravin Tambe, a leg spinner made his IPL debut for (RR) Rajasthan Royals in 2013. It is ammaze, When Pravin was picked by Royals for IPL 2013. Even, he had not played any first-class match but he had to do regular performance in club cricket. He did not perform good in his first IPL season. He took only 1 wicket from three matches with a very poor average of 87.9. 

It was a champion League that year where this Leg spinner announced his arrival to the international cricket. He took12 wickets from 5 matches in the league at an meshable average of 6.50 and an economy of 4.10 with best spell of 4/15.

Later, Tambe pick up a hat-trick in IPL 2014 against Kolkata Knight Riders. He has a part of 3 IPL teams – Gujrat Lions, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. He took 28 wickets in just 33 matches in IPL league.

Pravin was recently seen playing in t10 tournament where he became the first player who take a hat-trick and a five-wicket spell. He took 8 wickets from just 4 matches in the tournament.

#1 Player to have lost the most IPL finals – MS Dhoni

Undoubtly, MS Dhoni is the most successful finishers in the history of IPL and in world cricket also. He gave his team to 3 titles which also makes him a grrat and most successful captains of IPL. Although, Dhoni have an unwanted achievement of losing the highest number of ipl finals.

He was also the captain of Indian Cricket Team. MSD has been a part of 8 IPL with Chennai Super Kings(CSK) and Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS). He led Chennai Super Kings to the 7 finals and won three IPL tournaments but he loose this tournament by 4 times. Dhoni has also played a final for Rising Pune Supergiants in 2017 but unfortunately lose this final match.

However, Dhoni has lost 5 IPL from 8 IPL finals but he has played which is very big thing for any player.
