Techniques to Swing the Cricket ball
Swing is one of the most important part for any bowlers which made them a big bowler. Every batsman gets iritate with the swing. Swing is very better option for a bowler in any formate of cricket. This can cause the batsman to be quite misery in playing. Everyone know about the importance of swing.
As we all know that it is very difficult for a bowler but it is very good and hard art of a bowler. As we know, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is a very good swing bolwer. He is able to rotate the ball either side. Every batsman gets scrape with swing.
So, In this article we will let you know about swing and its different types such as inswing, outswing, reverse swing, conventional swing.
The movement of ball in air or in mid air, means when a ball travel into a particular direction then it turns its way around without touching something.
For example – The bowler delivered the ball then ball begin to move in the air itself without being touch. The ball can swing before touches the ground and after touches the ground and then turns the path of the ball. It may be inswing or outswing which is depend on seam position.
Swing happen why
In this para we will discuss about, why a ball deviated its way. Also discuss what are the forces that swing with the air up to the ball.
This concept is based on simple physics.
To swing a ball both its surface should be different. It means one side of a ball should be rough and other surface should be smooth. And it would swing even when it went up in the wind. As we all saw, the bowlers and fielders keeps rubbing on the ball to one side. So that the surface of the ball is changed, from which ball get the swing.
So what happens, when the ball travels in the air the air passes the ball. The ball that gets itraction is different with the air from its every side. On the rough side of ball the air gets more turbulent more resistance and on the smooth surface air gets less turbulency. So due to this air goes out very easily in comparison of rough surface.
A NASA scientist and a cricket club bowler, Rabindra Mehta has been researced on the swing of the ball.
According to aerodynamics principle,
A low pressure and a high pressure area gets created then it impose the force so ball gets move towards the rough side. The rough side of a ball is very light in comparison to smooth surface, so ball travel high pressure to low pressure.
How to swing a new ball
In this article, We have to learned the principle of swing of the ball and also learned why the ball swing and swing happens why.
Techniques to Swing the Cricket ball….
But if we have a new ball then how to gets a swing in a ball.
So it is not so difficult to swing a new ball for a bowler. In the new ball every side is smooth and no difference on the surface of a ball. So in this case we use a simple trick, We don ‘t have to hold the ball under the seam equally and ball should be croocked, so what do from that the on area of the ball gets turbulent due to the seam and gets a resistance in its path so due to this its another side becomes smooth in comparison to other. Then same physics ( Aerodynamics principle ) have occur in this case.
When a bowler hold the seam position of the ball towards the leg of the batsman or towards the fine leg then ball gets travel towards the batsman so this phenomenon is known as inswing.
When a bowler holds the seam of the ball towards the slip then ball gets travel away from the batsman and this phenomenon is known as outswing.
It is very difficult and a different form of the swing of the ball. In this case every thing is changed. As we know that ball travels to rough side or towards the seam of the ball but here ball move in the opposite direction. In this case ball move towards the shinning surface of the ball.
In this case every thing is changed, That would be different thing. After a long time playing with the ball ( after 20-25 overs ) every side gets rough so in that case. Both side becomes the turbulent area but the turbulent area over the ruff side ( at the seam ) so becoming. But very small in size and are air loops are depleted at short distances so force started to seem to be in the reverse direction and in opposite direction and ball gets a opposite torque.
We do not see the reverse swing in the starting overs because every side of the ball is same in the starting. After some time and after some overs ( after 25-30 overs ) we have see the reverse swing. It is difficult to learn and batsman can not read the reverse swing. This type of swing change its path in the air and become difficult to read.
Why don’t tennis ball swing
Tennis ball do not gets swing because we don’t make the different surfaces on the ball. Although, tennis ball have not any seam or any turbulent area. So ball do not give the swing.
